Start with the right conversation
This page is for organizations, schools, teams, and families seeking support with youth conflict, behaviour concerns, or complex situations involving young people.
JoOutLoud works in three connected ways:
-
Direct restorative leadership for complex or high-stakes situations involving youth
-
Licensed school programs delivered by trained JoOutLoud facilitators to support prevention and skill-building at scale
-
Selective youth resilience coaching, offered in intentional contexts to build reflection, responsibility, and capacity
If you're reaching out about a complex or high-stakes situation
This work is best suited for moments where:
-
something involving youth has escalated, or could
-
adults feel pressure to act quickly
-
trust, safety, or reputation feels at risk
-
the cost of getting it wrong feels high
If this describes your situation, we’ll begin by understanding:
-
what feels most at risk
-
who is involved
-
what’s already been tried
-
and what a responsible next step might look like
If this work is a fit, we’ll talk about how to move forward. If it isn’t, I’ll tell you that too.
If you're reaching out about licensed school social media safety programs
JoOutLoud offers preventative school programs that centre youth voice, shared responsibility, and meaningful conversation about digital life and emerging technologies.
Starting a Social Media Conversation
A licensed, facilitator-delivered school program that helps students and adults move beyond fear-based approaches to online behaviour and instead focus on communication, accountability, and relationship.
Starting an AI Conversation
A licensed school program supporting ethical, responsible engagement with artificial intelligence, grounded in curiosity, critical thinking, and shared responsibility.
These programs are delivered by trained JoOutLoud facilitators. Jo’s role is program stewardship, facilitator training, and quality assurance.
Licensed programs are best suited for schools seeking:
-
consistent, scalable prevention work
-
high-quality delivery without reliance on a single speaker
-
alignment with restorative values and youth voice
Program inquiries are assessed for fit and facilitator availability.
If you're reaching out about youth resilience coaching
Youth resilience coaching is available in limited, intentional contexts, typically for older youth and young adults who are:
-
willing to engage in reflection and responsibility
-
navigating transitions, identity, or decision-making
-
seeking skill-building rather than crisis intervention
This work is not therapy, crisis response, or parent-directed behaviour management. In many cases, the first conversation is with the adult to assess parent readiness to support the youth, followed by a conversation with the youth to ensure fit.
