Under PIPA, collecting youth information requires clear purpose and consent. We collect only what is needed to:

  • Provide coaching or educational services

  • Deliver restorative practice or restorative justice processes

  • Maintain safety and ethical standards

Automatically Collected Information

Through our website, we may collect:

  • IP address

  • Browser and device type

  • Basic website analytics
    We do not collect sensitive biometric or behavioural profiling data.

2. Purpose of Collecting Personal Information

Under PIPA, we must identify why information is collected. We collect your information to:

  • Offer coaching, presentations, circles, programs, and restorative processes

  • Deliver resources or newsletters (consent required)

  • Maintain accurate program records

  • Manage payments and scheduling

  • Meet legal, ethical, or reporting requirements

We do not use your information for any purpose not disclosed here unless we obtain your consent.

3. Consent

We obtain consent in ways that meet Alberta PIPA requirements:

  • Explicit consent for program participation, youth information, restorative processes, or email subscriptions

  • Implied consent for inquiries you initiate, website interaction, or service enrollment

  • Parent/guardian consent when working with minors unless a referring agency legally provides consent on their behalf

You may withdraw consent at any time, unless legal or ethical obligations require otherwise.

We share information only when necessary and always in line with PIPA:

  • Service providers (e.g., email platforms, payment processors)

  • Schools or agencies involved in programming, only with consent

  • Justice partners, only when required or consented to (e.g., restorative justice referrals)

  • Legal authorities, if required by law or court order

We do not sell or trade personal information.

5. Storage, Security & Location of Data

Under PIPA, we must safeguard personal information with reasonable security measures.

We use:

  • Encrypted platforms

  • Password-protected devices

  • Limited, role-based staff access

  • Secure third-party systems with comparable privacy protections

Some service providers may store data outside Canada. When they do, we ensure they meet recognized security and privacy standards.

6. Retention & Destruction

We retain personal information only as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes for which it was collected, or to meet legal, ethical, or reporting requirements.

When information is no longer required, it is securely destroyed or anonymized in accordance with PIPA guidelines.

  • Ask for corrections to inaccurate information

8. Youth Privacy & Sensitive Information

We take special care when working with minors or vulnerable individuals.
We follow:

  • Alberta PIPA

  • Best practice for trauma-informed and restorative work

  • School district privacy requirements

  • Justice system confidentiality standards

Youth information is never used for marketing or shared without explicit consent from appropriate decision-makers.
